Today, I want to talk to you about necklift recovery. The necklift recovery just basically involves you being wrapped up like a human Q-tip, where this is the part of your face that you’ll see, and the rest is going to be wrapped up. You will have an elastic bandage underneath that velcros on the top of the head and behind the neck. When you follow back up with us, we normally will take that outer dressing off. Then, you’ll keep that elastic bandage on usually for about five to seven days.
Suture Removal and Post-Op Incision Care
When you follow up after that time period, we will take the sutures out. It’s usually an incision right underneath the chin, and it’s usually about 1.5 to 2 centimeters. When that suture comes out, most patients like to put a little bit of vitamin E on there. As that incision matures, there’s really not much you need to do to it. Usually, I do like you to wear another garment. We’ll transition you out from the initial one to another one. I usually like you to wear that for about another week when you sleep at night and a couple of hours during the day.
Your Timeline for Returning to Activity and Managing Bruising
I would say after about two weeks, you can get back to your normal activity, working out and whatnot, and get back to your normal routine. Now, the other question I’m sure is on your mind is, “Is there bruising?” Again, sometimes there can be bruising, but usually after about two weeks, it’s gone. If there is any, it’s usually at the lower part of the neck, and then it just slowly migrates down to over the collarbones in the chest area.
