Neck Lift

Tampa NeckliftAt Elite Facial Plastic Surgery, a neck lift in Tampa, Florida, can be an effective way to stop the sagging neck skin known to most women as “turkey neck.” As women age, it is very common for the skin below the jaw to begin to stretch, sag and droop. The skin on the neck is very delicate so it will often begin to show signs of aging before other areas, and once the “turkey neck” forms, a neck lift procedure to tighten the skin is often the best way to fix it.

Neck Lift Before & After

The Turkey Neck Issue

One reason that “turkey neck” is such an issue for women is that you can’t easily cover it up with a stylish turtleneck sweater like most women do up North.

This problem is a result of aging as the neck changes its appearance and texture. The skin gets droopy and is normally accompanied by horizontal or vertical pull and wrinkling. Oftentimes, the skin will develop a rough, dry texture that can feel somewhat like paper to the touch. Most women try creams to try and reduce the area’s unsightly appearance if they can’t cover it with scarves or sweaters. Unfortunately, there are not any lotions or potions on the market to restore neck tissue as effectively as a Tampa neck lift procedure.*

A Neck Lift Works by Tightening Sagging Skin

As women start to age, the skin loses elasticity and gravity will cause the skin to sag. This often happens along the delicate skin of the neck, which is highly visible when wearing light weather clothing. Even women who are not very old can develop this condition and it can cause a serious impact on self-esteem. Weight loss can also trigger “turkey neck” because the fat loss will leave loose, draping skin that will not rebound if the elasticity is already gone. Many women who lose weight turn to neck lift procedures in order to remove the excess skin in their neck.  Regardless of how it got there, it makes a woman look much older and can greatly impact confidence. A neck lift can help repair the skin by tightening up both the outer dermal layers as well as the muscle to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Restore a Youthful Appearance

The revolutionary Simplicity Neck Lift offered exclusively at Elite Facial Plastic Surgery is a minimally invasive way to improve the appearance of your turkey neck. This procedure is just like a facelift for the neck and is very popular among the women in Tampa. “Many women don’t think about the skin on their neck until it starts to sag, they usually only worry about their facial skin. So we designed our neck lift to specifically target that area.” says Dr. Dominic Castellano, a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon.

The procedure is simple, with a small incision the chin to allow the surgeon to tighten the skin and muscle of the neck. In some cases, excess fat is suctioned out to improve the angle along with jawline. Recovery time is minimal and the results are very impressive and long lasting in terms of reducing the signs of aging.

A neck lift can provide our facial plastic surgery patients with benefits that include*:

  • The creation of a well-defined jawline
  • Restoring the angle between the chin and neck

Then, the platysma muscle is stitched together from each side, creating a “sling” which defines the angle between the chin and neck while simultaneously removing vertical bands and providing support to the neck tissues. Finally, the incision is closed.
