Non-invasive methods for facial cosmetic treatment has been escalating in popularity over the years. And who wouldn’t opt for non-invasive facial surgery?
However, before you answer that questions, below is a quick breakdown on invasive verse non-invasive facial surgical treatments.
Due to technological advances, invasive cosmetic surgery has improved over the years. Today, surgeries are minimally invasive as plastic surgeons can operate using viewing scopes and specifically designed instruments. Skilled cosmetic surgeons are able to achieve minimal incision to the skin for a major facial surgery with today’s advances. Although the pain and scarring has reduced with invasive facial cosmetic surgery, minimal invasive surgical treatments have met their match with today’s non-invasive plastic surgery methods.
Non-invasive cosmetic treatment has surpassed minimally invasive treatment by a long hall. As facial cosmetic procedures are sought after by younger and younger patients, non-invasive methods are ideal for a preventative, speedy procedure, and a more cost-effective treatment. Non-invasive cosmetic procedures allow patients to have a number of different options in order to achieve their desired look.
When looking at the difference between invasive and non-invasive cosmetic surgery, non-invasive methods have a number of pro’s that weigh heavily over those of invasive treatment. Non-invasive methods are the more common option due to the following benefits:
- Minimal down time
- No hospitalization
- No incision and scars
- Reduced risk of complications
- Minimal to no discomfort
- Lower Cost
Although non-invasive cosmetic procedures do not have a permanent effect, they do last a long period of time. Below, our Tampa facial cosmetic surgery center has put together a list of non-invasive surgical procedures and how long each treatment tends to last.
Botox: With this method, the targeted muscles which form unwanted wrinkles are weakened. Botox is a quick and effective wrinkle solution which generally lasts three to six months.
Dermal Fillers: Facial filler injections may vary from a couple of months to years depending on the targeted area and the product used. For example, Collagen fillers last a couple of months. Hyaluronic Acid Fillers may last six months to a year. Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers last a little over a year and Poly-L-Lactic Acid Fillers two years before the body breaks it down and absorbs the solution.
Laser Spider Vein Treatment: This treatment is permanent for the pre-existing spider veins that are targets by the lasers. However, it does not prevent new spider veins from appearing over time.
Chemical Peel: The peel applies a chemical which removes external layer of damaged skin in order to improve appearance of the skin. Which is replaced by a new rejuvenated layer of skin as it regenerates. These results vary on the severity of the type of chemical peel however, the results are temporary as the new layer of skin becomes damaged from exposure.
After reviewing the benefits of non-invasive facial procedures and their shelf-life, the popularity of non-invasive cosmetic treatments come as no surprise. If you had the choice between cutting and piercing your skin versus non-invasive treatments, wouldn’t you choose the latter?
