Eye Lift Surgery/Blepharoplasty FAQs
What can a blepharoplasty do for me?
Eye lift surgery can remove bags and puffiness from the eyelid, open up the eye area, and restore the youthful appearance of your eyes. In some cases it can even improve vision.
What is the normal age to start thinking about blepharoplasty?
For most people, aging eyelids start to become an issue in the mid-thirties. However, due to genetic factors, some patients can benefit from eyelid surgery much earlier in life.
Is it possible to remove the sagging in my upper lids without having the “surprised” look?
Of course! We have all seen and heard the horror stories of extreme eyelid surgery gone wrong. Dr. Jasin uses minimally invasive techniques and always opts for the subtle approach, achieving effective results without radically deviating from your natural look.
Is the blepharoplasty procedure painful?
No. Eyelid lifts are performed in our office and require only local anesthesia and mild sedation. General anesthesia is not required.
What is recovery like?
You may experience mild swelling and bruising for a few days to a week or more after blepharoplasty surgery. You should keep your head elevated for a few days. Dr. Jasin will give you eye drops to use and will instruct you on how to care for your eyes and keep them clean during recovery.
Can blepharoplasty be combined with other procedures?
Yes. Many patients choose to have laser skin resurfacing, a Simplicity Lift, injectable fillers, or BOTOX® treatment along with blepharoplasty.
