Tampa eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) patients are often concerned with how their eyes are making them appear older. Dr. Dominic performs both upper eyelid and lower eyelid surgeries. Blepharoplasty can resolve problems both cosmetic and functional.
Blepharoplasty Can Aid Many Conditions
There are many conditions that can be corrected ranging from droopy upper lids to no crease in the eyelid. Sometimes, the excess skin can form an eyelid that hangs over the lashes, causing a visionary obstruction. The term for this is ptosis. Many times ptosis can cause problems for you in just going about daily activities. Another common condition that can be corrected is “double eyelid” or “Asian” blepharoplasty, where no eyelid crease is present. Bulging lower eyelids can also be reduced.
For excess skin, the blepharoplasty procedure removes the extra skin and fat while also tightening the muscles. The eyelid surgery is done with a laser incision. The incision is done in the crease of the eyelid so that the scar, if any, will remain hidden in the eyelid. The lower eyelid surgery can be performed from the inside of the lid so there is no scar.
The best way to know if you are a good candidate for eyelid surgery is to meet with Dr. Dominic for a complimentary consultation. He’ll listen to your needs and let you know if this procedure is right for you.
Eyelid Surgery Recovery
You can expect to take 5-10 days to recover and will need this time off from work. Initially there will be bruising and puffiness, but this is greatly reduced by using laser surgery. Many times insurance companies will cover this type of procedure.
