Overcoming the Fear of a “Botched” Nose Job

One of the biggest fears people have about getting a nose job is that the procedure might get botched in some way. If you’re looking to correct tHave you ever thought about getting a rhinoplasty—your nose job—but you’re always concerned that it’s going to get, quote, “botched.” It is a question that I often hear on the telephone as well as in consultation. It’s totally, naturally understandable considering the day and age you live in. And most of the time, people are not going to be posting, you know, how great their nose came out; conversely, it’s actually what went wrong, and so certainly that’s a normal feeling to have a concern.

What to Look For When Choosing a Rhinoplasty Surgeon

I would say the best thing that would help guide you to prevent that from occurring is whomever you’re going to utilize, make sure they’re board-certified.

You know, certainly I’m partial as I’m a board-certified facial plastic surgeon as well as an ear, nose, and throat plastic surgeon; however, there are a lot of other surgeons out there that are more than qualified, but being board-certified is very important.

I’d also recommend to look at the reviews that the doctor has on Google, as well as getting an idea as for what their before-and-afters look like and what other patients have had to say.

Why You Should Always Consider a Second Opinion

Now, the other thing that goes along with this is obviously getting a good feel for the surgeon that you’re seeing. And I would also recommend that if you have any questions or concerns, you should certainly get a second opinion. I myself have seen plenty of patients who, if they have any concerns, I normally tell them to get a second opinion and make sure you feel comfortable with this.

Otherwise, I’ve got no problem with that, and neither should any surgeon that is offering to help take care of you.
