Neck Lift in Tampa
Precision artistry from a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon to reclaim a defined, natural neckline.
Is a Neck Lift the Right Way to Restore Your Profile?
A neck lift in Tampa addresses the skin, muscle, and fat beneath the chin and along the neck to restore a smoother, firmer, more youthful profile.
When looking for a neck lift surgeon, you want someone you can trust with one of the most visible parts of your appearance. Dr. Dominic Castellano specializes exclusively in procedures of the face and neck, ensuring every surgery reflects years of dedicated, highly focused training.
Dr. Dominic customizes each procedure to your anatomy and skin laxity to avoid an over-pulled appearance.
A neck lift may be right for you if you are noticing:
- Loose, sagging skin under your chin that is adding unwanted years to your appearance.
- Vertical muscle bands or cords running visibly along the front of your neck.
- A heavy double chin or excess fat that is blurring your jawline contour.
- Your neck and chin no longer meet at a defined, crisp, and distinct angle.
- You have lost significant weight and your lower skin has not naturally caught up.
- Non-surgical treatments have failed to deliver the sharp definition you were hoping for.
Beyond the Neck: When Other Procedures May Be a Better Fit
The right procedure depends on where tissue laxity is occurring and what specific changes you are hoping to improve.
- A Facelift or a Deep Plane Facelift may be a better fit if sagging extends into the cheeks, jowls, or lower face alongside the neck.
- Chin & Neck Liposuction may be enough if the primary concern is localized fat beneath the chin and you still have firm skin elasticity.
- A Chin & Cheek Implant can improve chin projection and help create better balance between the chin, jawline, and neck profile.
- Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) or a Brow Lift may complement a neck lift if upper facial aging is also contributing to a tired appearance.
- A Facial Fat Transfer may help restore volume loss in the cheeks or midface that a lifting procedure alone cannot address.
Every patient ages differently, which is why Dr. Castellano evaluates the neck, jawline, chin, and lower face together when determining the best surgical approach.

What Neck Lift Recovery Actually Looks Like
Recovery after a neck lift involves swelling, bruising, and gradual tissue settling over the first several weeks. Dr. Castellano closely monitors healing to ensure the neck contour develops naturally over time
Week 1
Swelling, bruising, and tightness are expected as the tissues begin healing.
Weeks 2–3
Bruising and swelling typically improve as the neck contour starts to settle.
Months 1–3
Residual swelling gradually resolves and the neckline becomes more defined over time.
Beyond
Final results continue to develop as healing progresses.

Questions Patients Ask Before Moving Forward
How Long Does a Neck Lift Last?
A neck lift focusing on the central neck area can last several years and sometimes even longer, depending on how you age, your skin quality, and how well you take care of yourself.
I always tell my patients that maintaining a healthy diet, continuing to work out, and taking care of themselves can help prolong their results.
If you’d like to learn more, I also discuss neck lift longevity and recovery expectations in this video.
Does a Neck Lift Help Improve Sagging Jowls?
Sometimes, but not always.
In my practice, a neck lift primarily focuses on the central neck area beneath the chin. Patients sometimes think they need a neck lift because they are focused on the jowls, but in actuality they may need more of a facelift procedure.
A lot depends on your skin elasticity, anatomy, and where the laxity is occurring.
You can also learn more about treatment options for a sagging neck, including chin liposuction, neck lift surgery, and facelift procedures.
Is a Neck Lift Painful?
It should not be painful. It’s usually more soreness and tightness than pain. Most of my patients just take Motrin or Advil.
What Is Recovery Like After a Neck Lift?
Recovery usually involves wearing a compression garment for the first several days while the neck heals and swelling settles.
Most patients can return to normal daily activity within about two weeks, although bruising, tightness, and swelling gradually improve over time.
