EYE LID lift procedure
This procedure is performed at our in office surgical suite and can generally take about one hour.
Upper Eyelids
Over time, the upper lids begin to sag, droop, and appear puffy, due to fat deposits and loss of skin elasticity. Upper eyelid surgery removes excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids. A small incision is made in the natural fold of the eyelid. This hides the scar very well and is not easily observable post surgery. The incision is made with the use of a laser which helps in the precision and reduces swelling and bruising. Patients report a more rested and refreshed appearance. Some patients even have improved vision as the eyelid is no longer “resting” and impairing their vision.
Lower Eyelids
Puffiness or bags in the lower eyelids can occur due to aging or as a familial trait. The skin may become redundant and dark circles may appear. The puffiness is due to fat from around the eye bulging forward. Lower lid blepharoplasty treats the puffiness by removing or re-positioning the excess fat. Dr. Dominic does this with an internal incision made with the laser to reduce bruising and swelling. Laser skin resurfacing can be incorporated to smooth and tighten the lower lid skin.
