Laser skin resurfacing in Tampa, FL, at Elite Facial Plastic Surgery is an effective way to treat imperfections of the skin such as lines and wrinkles, brown spots, acne scars, moles and other skin lesions as well as scars due to trauma or surgery. The laser removes layers of skin to treat problems both in the top layer of the skin (epidermis), as well as in the dermis, the deeper layer of skin. As the skin heals, collagen in the skin is remodeled. This produces tightening of the skin and a smoother, healthier, and overall more youthful appearance.

Expertise with Injectables

Dr. Dominic Castellano uses the palette of cosmetic injectables with an impeccable attention to detail, improving each patient's appearance with a customized treatment plan. In the hands of a skilled injector, products such as BOTOX®, JUVÉDERM®, RADIESSE®, and Restylane® can minimize wrinkles and create attractive, natural-looking contours.

Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing

The Erbium laser is absorbed by the skin more effectively than the CO2 laser. Because of this, there is much less thermal injury, or heat damage, to the skin. For the patient, this means less anesthesia requirements, more rapid healing, less redness, shorter duration of redness and less potential for hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. Because of the versatility and precision of the Erbium:YAG laser, we feel that it is more effective than fractionated lasers.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure

The Erbium:YAG laser provides us with more flexibility of treatment. A very light and freshening peel can be done for younger patients to keep their skin looking young and healthy. Those with more severe changes of aging or sun damage can be successfully treated as well. People with ethnic skin, who could not be reliably treated with previous methods of resurfacing, can be successfully and safely treated with the Erbium:YAG laser. We also use the Erbium:YAG laser to achieve excellent results in the treatment of acne scars.
